Police: Two Men Pose As Utility Workers, Assault Woman In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for two men who they say impersonated utility workers and attacked a woman inside her home in South Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Mole Street.

Police say two armed men, in their 20's or 30's, posed as utility workers, forced their way inside the home and then assaulted a 39-year-old woman.

The victim suffered cuts to her head and was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

The suspects fled the scene.

Authorities say nothing appeared to have been taken from the home.

There was no initial word on a motive for the attack.
