Police: Suspect Swipes 3 Pairs Of Nikes From Chestnut Hill Shop

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are looking for an alleged thief caught on surveillance camera swiping three pairs of sneakers from a local sport shop.

Investigators say an unknown male entered the Chestnut Hill Sports store on the 8000 block of Germantown Avenue on Friday around 7 p.m., asking questions about sneakers.

According to authorities, after several minutes in the store, the suspect grabbed three boxes of Nike sneakers, valued at $270. The suspect then fled the store on foot in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, standing 6 feet one inches tall, between 36-39 years of age with brown hair and a thin build. He was seen wearing a light gray t-shirt, light brown cargo shorts and was carrying a dark-colored backpack.
