Police Still Seeking Help In Case Of Woman Shot Dead In Northern Liberties

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An increased reward was set to expire at midnight Sunday for information leading to an arrest in the murder of a woman in Northern Liberties.

26-year-old Amber Long was shot and killed in a cold-blooded purse snatching right in front of her mother on January 19 (See related story).

The Fraternal Order of Police upped the ante by doubling the reward from $10,000 to $20,000 for tips before the end of Sunday. However, homicide detectives say there have been no significant developments in the case. They are working on a few minor leads, but tracking down Long's killer is proving to be a challenge.

Homicide captain James Clark said watching video from the shooting was one of the saddest things he's ever seen.

Detectives still hold out hope that somebody knows who shot Long. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 9-1-1.
