Police: South Jersey Man Wounded In Drive-By Shooting

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — A drive-by shooting in southern New Jersey man has left a man wounded.

Lakewood police say the 19-year-old victim had just left a private home and was headed to his car when shots rang out around 1 a.m. Sunday.

The man, who was hit in the right arm, then drove short distance away before calling police. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released later Sunday morning.

Authorities say the shooting does not appear to be a random act, but declined further comment.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and the name of the man shot was not disclosed.

No arrests have been made.
