Police Sing Spanish Christmas Carols With Seniors To Spread Holiday Cheer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Members of the Philadelphia Police Department are spreading holiday cheer with some Spanish Christmas caroling at the Norris Square Senior Center.

Police officer Edwin Lopez, president of SALEA,  says it stands for the "Spanish American Law Enforcement Association."

He says members of SALEA are committed to giving back to the community and immersing themselves in the communities they serve, which is why they showed up at the Norris Square Senior Center.

"We're giving back to the senior center citizens. We're going out singing Christmas carols. We have a band that's called the 'Paranda' band and afterwards, we're going to give them a little something to eat."

Jose Rodriguez, one of the residents, says, "Celebrating Christmas Day holiday and we love it! Especially a big crowd like this, we love it more!"

Kuznits: "Are the police good dancers?"

"Oh yeah! He's a good dancer. That's my man right there! You see that? He's a good dancer. He's a very good dancer!"
