Police: Teen In Critical Condition After Dog Attack In Lawncrest

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a teen is in critical condition after being attacked by a dog in Philadelphia's Lawncrest neighborhood.

Police say it happened at about 7:23 p.m. Friday at the 200 block of Higbee Street.

Police say while responding to a 911 call for a person screaming, an officer discharged his weapon once, striking a pit bull that was attacking a 16-year-old boy.

The teen was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

The dog's injuries are unclear, but police say the dog is being contained.

There were no injuries to police.
