UPDATE: Police Make Arrest In Center City Stabbing Incident

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have made an arrest in the stabbing of an off-duty police officer and another man last night outside a bar in the Washington Square West neighborhood (see related story).
Police have arrested 39-year-old William Johnson, of the Pennsport neighborhood of the city on Friday evening in connection with the stabbing.
According to investigators, Johnson approached the 49-year-old, off-duty officer and a friend about 11:30 last night in the 200 block of South Camac Street, near 12th and Spruce, asking for money and cigarettes.
Police say the officer identified himself when the man became too insistent, whereupon the suspect yelled, "F--- you, and I don't give a f--- what you are," then charged the officer, stabbing him twice in the torso and once in the leg.
A bartender coming to the officer's aid was cut on the chin.
Police say a folding knife was recovered near the scene.
The officer was listed in stable condition at an area hospital. The bartender was treated and released.
According to police, Johnson was taken into custody on the 1100 block of Pine Street, where he was sleeping in the bushes.
Police say he was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital to be evaluated for a pain in his ribs. Upon release from the hospital, police say he will be processed and charged.
