Police Seek Man Who Robbed Delco Movie Theater, Shots Fired After

By Matt Rivers

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. (CBS) - Police are searching for an armed man they say robbed a movie theater late Friday night in Springfield, Delaware County.

This happened around 11 p.m. at the AMC Marple 10 located on the 400 block of South State Road.

Police say the suspect entered the theater, took about $600 in cash, and then left and went to the parking lot where he got into the passenger side of 2006 Volkswagen.

According to police, a security guard at the theater followed the man into the parking lot and to the car when an argument ensued. The guard told police someone inside the car flashed a gun, so the guard fired a gun and hit the driver's side door.

The suspects then reportedly drove away.

Police are now reviewing surveillance footage (see photo below) and searching for the suspect who they say is 6'1.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Marple Township Police.
