Police Arrest Audubon Murder Suspect

AUDUBON, N.J. (CBS) – The Camden County Prosecutor and Audubon Police report that a man wanted for murder was captured Friday morning.

Twenty-three-year-old Brandon Mosby,  of Camden, was captured by the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task Force at about 1:30 a.m. in Camden.

Mosby was wanted in connection with the murder of 48-year-old John Carey. Carey was shot at a home on the 500 block of White Horse Pike around 10:50 p.m. on March 4.

Mosby was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with a woman living at the home. The victim, Carey, was renting out a room there.

The dispute between Mosby and the female spilled from her room and into a common area when Carey attempted to intervene. Mosby is accused of then shooting him. Carey died at the scene.

When Mosby's attention was focused on Carey, the female involved in the dispute fled the home. She allegedly flagged down a random passing car and the women in that vehicle drove her to the Collingswood Diner.

Mosby is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon in Camden County.
