MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say they are searching for a 28-year-old man who escaped while being transported to the Burlington County Jail while handcuffed and not wearing shoes.

Police said that Michael Mimms ran away from the jail around 8:30 a.m. Saturday while they were trying to place him inside.

They say he was wearing handcuffs attached to a belt and was last seen running on High Street without shoes.

He is described as a black man, 5-feet-10 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark, multicolored T-shirt, dark basketball shorts and brown socks. Authorities warn anyone who sees him to contact 9-1-1 immediately.
