Man Dies After Brazen Assault In Mill Creek; Suspect Wanted

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are working diligently to find the person who killed a 60-year-old man during a brazen assault in the Mill Creek neighborhood on Thursday.
Police say around 2:30 a.m. a man was attacked on the 4600 block of Lancaster Avenue.
"He's approximately 60 years old, a black male was accosted by another male. Punched him, the witness observed the guy riffling through his pockets," said Captain Jack Ryan with the Philadelphia Police Department.
Police have not been able to identify the victim, his ID was likely stolen in the robbery.
A witness who returned to the scene after the attack told police the suspect was wearing all black and appeared to be about 30 years old.
Surveillance cameras at a nearby mosque may aid the investigation, but so far neither police nor the mosque have released video.
While police have not linked this homicide to any other crimes in the area they consider the killer a public threat.
One neighbor who says she only saw what was going on after police already arrived says it's upsetting to think the victim's family might not even know what happened yet.
"It's just sad, it's real sad to know that he's somebody's father, grandfather, uncle, son," the neighbor said.
