KULPSVILLE, Pa. (CBS) --- Police in Montgomery County are investigating after a razor blade was found in a wrapped candy bar.
Towamencin Township Police say the incident happened on Friday night after a young boy got home from trick-or-treating in area of Woodlawn Drive and Walnut Lane.
"A mother was with her child and saw him open up a piece of candy, and inside was a large razor blade," says Sergeant John Cutrone. "The wrapping appeared to be sealed."
Cutrone says authorities notified parents in the area about what happened.
"People really need to think about where they trick-or-treat," he says. "I mean obviously this was a kid's neighbor. So, if you can't trust your neighbor, I'm not sure where you're going to go with trick-or-treating in the future."
Cutrone says no injuries were reported, but he advises parents to be vigilant and to make sure to check all the candy that comes into their home. Anything suspicious should be reported immediately.
Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Towamencin Township Police Department at 215-368-7606.
