Police Probe Attempted Murder-Suicide Inside Delaware County Home

GLENOLDEN, Pa. (CBS) -- Police have identified two people in connection to an attempted murder-suicide inside a Delaware County home.

The incident happened inside a home on West Ashland Avenue in Glenolden.

According to investigators, the husband, identified as Richard Piroli, shot his wife, Carol Ann Piroli, before turning the gun on himself. Police say the man is dead inside the home.

Investigators say the female was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center where she is listed in extremely critical condition.

Police are currently waiting for a search warrant to enter the home.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan said the couple was in their early 60s.

Neighbors told Eyewitness News reporter Jenn Bernstein that the couple lived on the block for a long time and had grown children and grandchildren.

The incident remains under investigation.
