Police: Philadelphia Woman DUI When She Crashed Into School Van

EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Police say a Philadelphia woman was drunk when she crashed into as school van last month, injuring its driver and two students.

Fifty-two-year-old Janet Porreca faces a preliminary hearing March 1 on drunken driving and other charges, including marijuana possession.

State police say Porreca was under the influence when she crashed into the van about 8 a.m. Jan. 14 on Route 611. That happened in Williams Township.

The crash injured Porreca, the van's driver and a 12-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl in the school van. The injuries were all minor.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Porreca, who also does not have a listed telephone.

Police say Porreca was nearly twice as drunk as the state's legal limit.
