Police: Pennsylvania Man Arrested In Shooting Over Plate Of Food

ROCHESTER MILLS, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in central Pennsylvania say a man has been arrested in a shooting death that authorities said was over a plate of food.

State police in Indiana County said a 59-year-old man is facing homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangering charges in the shooting death of 51-year-old David Ackerson.

Police said the two got into a dispute at Ackerson's house in Grant Township shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.

WTAE-TV reported that Ackerson brought out two plates of food that the suspect's mother had given him, but the suspect became angry and accused him of "mooching."

Investigators allege that he left and the victim caught up with him along a nearby gas well road, where the suspect shot him.

District Attorney Patrick Dougherty called the killing "senseless."
