Police: Pair Accused Of Shoplifting More Than $1,000 In Baby Formula

GLOUCESTER Twp., N.J., (CBS) – Police in Gloucester Township say two suspects have been arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of baby formula from a local supermarket.

At about 4:44 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report of two shoplifters being held by store security at the Shop Rite in the 1200 block of Blackwood Clementon Road.

Officers responded to the scene and arrested 23-year-old Erica Williams and 27-year-old Demetris Williams, both of Sewell.

Police allege the pair attempted to flee the Shop Rite without paying for 67 cans of baby formula, worth about $1,051.

They were transported to Gloucester Township Police Department headquarters for processing and criminal charges.

Erica Williams is charged with Shoplifting 3rd degree and Failure to Appear and was remanded to Camden County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Demetris Williams is charged with Shoplifting 3rd degree and was released on a Criminal Summons.
