Police: Officers Shoot Man In Mayfair After Failing To Put Down Rifle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police released details of a police involved shooting that took place in Mayfair on Wednesday.

According to authorities, officers shot a man outside on the 6300 block of Crafton Street.

Police say that when they arrived on the scene, a man was on the block with a rifle. Officers asked the man to put down the weapon and they say that he did not comply with that demand.

Authorities say officer shot the man in the arm. He was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital for treatment.
