Police Officer Delivers Baby Boy On Side Of The Road In Camden County

VOORHEES TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – A South Jersey police officer is being recognized after he delivered a baby on the side of the road around 4:30 a.m. on Friday.

At 4:27 a.m., Voorhees Police officers Bill Walsh and Pat Kerper were patrolling the area of Kirkwood-Gibbsboro Road when a vehicle started high-beaming their patrol car.

When police pulled the vehicle over, they discovered the female, Donnismarie Wallace, of Somerdale, was in labor.

According to the police department, Officer Kerper delivered a baby boy right in the front seat of the car Wallace and her husband, Joel Wallace, were in.

The baby, named Gabriel Wallace, and his mother were transported to Virtua Voorhees.
