PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a man found dead in a car after being sought in the shooting death of a woman last week killed himself.

Police said Monday that the Philadelphia medical examiner's office had determined that 52-year-old Stanley Laing died of a gunshot wound to the forehead.

Police and prosecutors in Montgomery County said Laing's body was found at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the rear seat of a vehicle at an East Oak Lane apartment complex with a firearm nearby.

Laing had been charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in Thursday's slaying of 49-year-old Indra Sheets in the couple's Cheltenham Township home. Police classified the case as a domestic-related homicide.
