Police: Man Slips, Impales Himself On Statue On Ben Franklin Parkway

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 21-year-old man was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after impaling himself on a statue of a buck along the Ben Franklin Parkway, according to police.

Medics responded to 2600 Ben Franklin Parkway just before 4 p.m. to find that a man had climbed onto the statue in Eakins Oval, slipped and impaled himself on the deer's antlers.

The man was conscious and alert as he was transported to Hahnemann Hospital, police say. He is in stable condition.
