Police: Man Shot By Gunman Who Takes Car With Infant Inside

PENNS GROVE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say the man suspected of fatally shooting a man in front of a New Jersey cemetery and then stealing his car with the victim's year-old son inside has surrendered to Philadelphia police.

Hakeem Williams is held on $1 million bail while awaiting extradition to Salem County.

Penns Grove police say the 31-year-old shot a 24-year-old Jakaiye Ingram of Pennsville on Saturday. He died at a hospital.

The child was later found unharmed after the suspect abandoned the vehicle in Philadelphia.

Authorities say the child was in the car's back seat, strapped in his car seat. It's not clear if the shooter knew the child was in the vehicle when he stole it.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
