Police: Man Armed With Broom Handle Tried To Rob Delaware Sports Bar
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) - Authorities in Delaware are looking for the man they say attempted to rob a sports bar in Newark armed with a broom handle.
Police got the call around 8 p.m. Friday from the Chestnut Sports Bar located at 15 Prestbury Square.
A manager says the suspect, who earlier was a patron at the bar, attacked her and demanded money from the register. After a bit of a struggle with another customer, the suspect reportedly ran off empty handed.
Police say the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a green shirt. He is described as a black male, 30-35 years old, 5'05"-5'09" tall and balding.
