Police: Stabbing Suspect Gives Police Twin's ID

LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities say a stabbing suspect gave them his twin brother's identification, leading them to search for the wrong man.

Police say on January 10, Lance Greenwood was inside of the residence on E. Main Street and had not, at that point, been established as a suspect.

Authorities say Lance, while identifying those inside of the residence, falsely provided a driver's license identifying himself as his twin brother, Leonard Greenwood.

Police say the next day Leonard escorted his brother Lance to the Lansdale Police Department where Lance admitted to providing a false ID to police.

Lance Greenwood, in custody at the Lansdale Police Department, is awaiting arraignment on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, PIC, REAP and false identification to law enforcement authorities.

Authorities say the teenage victim told police that he and the suspect were playing around and the suspect when into another room and when he came back he stabbed him once in the chest.

Police say the victim was airlifted to Abington Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.
