Police Looking For Burglary Suspects Who Allegedly Demanded Money From Family At Gunpoint

CHESTER SPRINGS, Pa. (CBS) -- Police are looking for suspects who allegedly broke into a home and demanded money from a family at gunpoint.

According to officials, officers of the Uwchlan Township Police Department were dispatched to a home on Byers Road in Chester Springs around 1:19 a.m. for a report of a home invasion and robbery.

The residents told arriving officers that two men, armed with handguns, had entered the home and confronted them. Then each of the family members were taken to one room of the house and physically restrained.

Police say one of the suspects struck one of the residents on the head with a handgun when the victim momentarily hesitated to comply with the suspects' instructions. The victim was treated on location and later transported to Paoli Memorial Hospital.

The victims told authorities the suspects made multiple demands for money. Once the suspects were given all of the cash the family had on hand, they fled in an unknown direction.

Police say a description of the vehicle the suspects may have been traveling in is unknown.
