Kingsessing Hit-And-Run Victim In Critical Condition; Driver Sought

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are searching for a driver wanted in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left a 32-year-old man in critical condition.

It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Monday in the 6200 block of Kingsessing Avenue in Kingsessing.

Police say the 32-year-old man was standing on the right shoulder of the westbound lane, leaning over and fixing his bike.

According to police, a vehicle was heading westbound on Kingsessing and allegedly struck the man.  Police say the vehicle stopped briefly and continued westbound on Kingsessing.

The 32-year-old was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with severe head injuries and is in very critical condition.

Police say they are searching for a black 2000-2004 Jeep Cherokee.
