Police Continue To Investigate Series Of Reported Attempted Child Lurings In Berks County

READING., PA (CBS) -- Parents in communities across Berks County are worried about their children.
Law enforcement officials now tell CBS 3 Eyewitness News they've received more than a dozen reported cases of child luring and predatory behavior.
"I can't ever recall, in my time here, the level and the number of incidents that are being reported," said Reading School District Assistant Superintendent Chris Celmer."
Generally, the reports come from young children approached while walking to or from school.
Multiple incidents have described both white and Hispanic males driving dark colored vehicles that have ranged from trucks to vans.
So far, investigators have released two police sketches fitting the descriptions in certain sightings, but nothing solid.
"It's extremely concerning," Celmer said. "We feel so fortunate that nothing worse has happened."
Monday, police say a man asked a student walking home on North 12th in Reading to get in his van.
The student ran home.
"If there's perpetrators out there, there's definitely more than one," said Berks County District Attorney John Adams. "We need better identifying characteristics in order that we can work towards finding who's responsible."
