Police Investigate Possible Connection Between 2 North Philadelphia Shootings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two men were shot in the Brewerytown section of North Philadelphia early Sunday morning. Police are investigating whether the two incidents are related.

Philadelphia police received a call just after midnight for a "person with a gun", on North 28th Street near West Montgomery Avenue.

On arrival, officers found a 36-year-old man in the street a few blocks away who had been shot multiple times in the chest and back. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Just minutes later, police got a second call about a shooting victim inside a home on North Newkirk Street. The victim, a 30-year-old man, said he had been shot while on the 2800 block of West Montgomery Avenue.

He had been shot in the right shoulder.

He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was treated and released.
