Police Investigate Indecent Assault On Woman In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit is investigating an incident in which a 19-year-old woman was assaulted over the weekend in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday near City Avenue and 50th Street in the city's Wynnefield neighborhood.

The woman told police she was walking home from a friend's house when she was approached by two men. The woman claims she tried to avoid them, but one of the men grabbed her arm and made a comment to her. When she tried to pull away, the man indecently assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, about 6-feet tall, who had shoulder length hair in braids or dreadlocks. He was wearing a puffy, blue vest and boots at the time.
