Police Investigate Deadly Hit And Run In Wilmington
WILMINGTON, DE. (CBS) -- Police are investigating a hit and run that left a 57-year-old Wilmington, Delaware man dead.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday along the 1700 block of West 2nd Street.
Police say it appears the man was intoxicated, fell into the road and was laying there when he was struck by the driver of pickup truck, who continued without stopping.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Christiana Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities were looking for the suspect and the pickup truck, which is described as red with a horizontal stripe running the length of the vehicle.
