Police in Delco and Philadelphia Swoop Down on Alleged Bank Fraud Gang

BROOMALL, Pa. (CBS) -- Delaware County and Pennsylvania state police were putting together the pieces after an apparent attempt to defraud a bank this afternoon.

Marple Township police say three people were taken into custody at a TD Bank on Sproul Road in Broomall after trying to cash a check with invalid ID cards.

The three told police they were solicited by several men in a gray Dodge Durango with Georgia plates.  The trio -- two women and one man -- said they were supposed to cash the check and then, after turning over the proceeds, they would get a cut.

Marple Township police say the operation is known all over the East Coast as the "Felony Lane Gang."

The three people arrested said the other vehicle took off.  Marple Township police broadcast a description of the vehicle, and Pennsylvania State Police located it on I-95 North, in South Philadelphia.  Police say the vehicle was stopped and all four men were apprehended.  There are reports that at least one of the vehicle occupants initially tried to escape by jumping off an overpass, breaking a leg.
