Police ID 14-Year-Old Shot, Killed In Mayfair

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have identified the teen who was shot and killed in the Mayfair section of the city last night.

Around 9:00 p.m. Monday, police say two men approached Ian Wilsey, 14, and his 16-year-old friend in the area of Brous and Devereaux Avenues in Mayfair. One of the suspects fired on the teens, injuring Wilsey. The 14-year-old later died at the hospital.

Police say Wilsey didn't live in that particular neighborhood but about a mile and a half away. He was set to turn 15 in December.

Wilsey was a student at Northeast High School and was set to turn 15 next month.

"Our hearts are with the family, friends and entire Northeast High School community during this difficult time," said the school district in a statement. "The School District's response team of grief counselors is meeting with students, teachers, administrators and other staff."

No suspects have been arrested at this time.

A GoFundMe has been created for helping the victim's family with funeral expenses.
