Police Fire At Armed Suspect In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police shot at least one person who was armed with a gun Monday evening in the Haddington neighborhood of the city.

This happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 5600 block of Westminster Avenue.

Police were responding to a call of a man with a gun. When they arrived on the scene, the suspect reportedly pointed the gun at police, who then opened fire.

No officers were hurt. The suspect was shot in the arm and leg, then taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is expected to survive.

Police were able to recover the suspects weapon. They do not have any motives at this time.
