Police: Females Try To Rob 7-Eleven, Pepper Spray Employee Attempting To Take Their Picture
EXTON, Pa. (CBS)—Police in West Whiteland Township are investigating a violent attempted robbery in broad daylight on Saturday.
The incident took place at the 7-Eleven store located at 103 N. Pottstown Pike.
According to police, four black females entered the store at 2:06 p.m. Saturday afternoon. A worker spotted one of the women attempting to steal merchandise.
As the suspects were leaving the store, the worker followed them and attempted to take their picture. One of the suspects then grabbed the employee's cell phone and a brawl ensued, resulting in the worker getting punched and sprayed in the face with pepper spray.
During this time, the employee was able to recover the bag of the stolen materials and took it back into the store.
Two of the suspects followed behind and allegedly punched him and placed him in a headlock.
However, their efforts to get the bag back were unsuccessful and they fled in a white Ford Focus.
The next day authorities arrested 18-year-old Shanelle Davis from her home in Philadelphia. The females' getaway vehicle was also recovered.
Davis was arraigned and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post a $75,000 bail.
Eighteen-year-old Nirrah Jones later turned herself into police. The employee's stolen cell phone was also turned over.
She was remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bail.
After further investigation, authorities identified the other two suspects as Asia Henderson, 19, and Najia Davis, 22.
Police have issued warrants for their arrests.
