Pa. Man Fatally Stabbed With 22-inch Sword

BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — State police were refusing to release the name of a 37-year-old western Pennsylvania man repeatedly stabbed with a 22-inch sword as they chase leads that the killing may be drug-related.

That surprised residents of the quiet, tree-lined street in Blairsville where the man was found dead in a home about 1:45 a.m. Thursday. Blairsville is about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Police took items believed to be drug paraphernalia from the house and claimed to have several "persons of interest" but no suspects in the case.

The Indiana County coroner is also not releasing details at the request of police.

Blairsville police are investigating the case jointly with state troopers.

Police Chief Mike Allman says the man wasn't originally from Blairsville and had been stabbed.
