Police: Duo Beat Man With Rake, Tied Him Up, Then Stole His Marijuana

MILLSBORO, Del. (AP) — Delaware State Police have charged two New Jersey men they say beat a Millsboro-area man with a rake, tied him up and stole his marijuana.

Police say a homeowner found his 23-year-old tenant tied up in the garage Wednesday and called police. The man told police that two men showed with rakes and offered to clear up his leaves. After he declined, one man hit him with a rake, knocking him to the ground. Police say the duo dragged the man to the garage and bound his hands and feet.

Once they found the man's marijuana, they drove off.

Officers stopped the car and police say they arrested 20-year-old Miguel Velasquez and 21-year-old Kent Mautes. Both are from Edison, New Jersey. They're charged with robbery, assault, burglary and other offenses.
