Police Describe Fatal Sicklerville Crash As 'Gruesome'
SICKLERVILLE, NJ (CBS) -- A man is dead following a bizarre car wreck on Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township New Jersey.
Winslow Township police got the call around 4 a.m. about a dark colored Honda Accord going at a high rate of speed near Cross Keys and Chews Landing Road. Moments later, neighbors were awakened when the car hit a wooden pole, flipping several times before landing on a grassy area on Sicklerville Road.
Mike was visiting his mother overnight, her backyard is just feet away from where car ejected the driver.
"We just heard a loud screeching, the tires, just heard something like eeerrr... and then boom, boom, boom, boom," he said.
As police continue to investigate, Mike felt it seemed different then most accidents.
"It definitely seems like a car chase and that doesn't seem to happen around here."
No word yet on the identity of the victim.
