Police Come Under Fire While Responding To Shooting At Bar In Mayfair

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police officers came under fire overnight while responding to a shooting inside a bar in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around midnight Saturday at McGeehan's Tavern along the 4400 block of Cottman Avenue in the city's Mayfair neighborhood.

Police say the incident started as a domestic dispute inside the bar and escalated into gunfire. Authorities say a 23-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the arm.

As police were responding the shooting, another man fired a single shot at officers outside the bar. No officers were injured and the second gunman was arrested without further incident. It was unclear why he opened fire on police.

The initial gunman who fired shots inside the bar fled the scene.
