PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a child that took place on Friday afternoon in the city's Hunting Park section.

Police say that the incident occurred on the 1300 block of McFerran Street. They say that a 9-year-old boy was dragged into an alleyway by his book bag by an unknown man.

Officials describe the man as a black male in his 30's. They say he was wearing a white shirt.
