Amber Alert Canceled After Young Girl Found Safe, Father In Custody

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CBS/AP) — A father is in custody and an Amber Alert has been canceled for a young girl who was found safe.

Authorities initially issued the alert for 6-year-old Aylin Sofia Hernandez of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her father, 39-year-old Oscar Hernandez, is accused of killing the girl's mother. He is now in custody.

Authorities believed they were in the Altoona, Pennsylvania, area.

Police responded to a Bridgeport home at about 2:45 a.m. Friday to find two stabbing victims. One died and the other is expected to survive.

Police say Hernandez is believed to have fled with his daughter.

This is a developing story.
