Official: Bag Containing Ammunition Found At Delaware County School

BRYN MAWR, Pa. (CBS) – A Delaware County school was evacuated Wednesday after a small bag containing ammunition was found by a security guard, according to a school official.

The administrative team at Barrack Hebrew Academy immediately notified the Radnor Police Department of the discovery and evacuated the main school building as a precautionary measure.

During a police investigation, the school dismissed students early and by 2:00 p.m. all students had departed and police cleared the building.

School officials say at the recommendation of Radnor police, the building will be closed Wednesday evening and will reopen Thursday for a regular school day.

Additionally, school officials say no assessments or school assignments are due tomorrow.

Barrack Academy says while the investigation continues, it has secured additional police presence during the school day and for evening activities. A detail officer will be on campus for the remainder of the school week.
