Police: 94-Year-Old WWII Veteran Falls Victim to Fraud in Oxford Circle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect they say targeted a 94-year-old World War II veteran in Oxford Circle.

It happened March 11 at 1 p.m., while the victim was in the parking lot of Walgreen's located at the 7200 block of Castor Avenue.

Police say a man approached the victim telling him that his wheel on his vehicle was wobbling, and that he had the part to fix his vehicle, but would cost a large sum of money.

According to police, the suspect then drove the victim to his bank located at the 7300 block of Castor Avenue to withdraw the money. After taking the money, police say the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a White or Hispanic male, thin build, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans with faded spots in the front and rear.
