It happened in the 2600 block of North 16th Street around 9:30 p.m.
Police say the child was chasing a ball into the street when the car struck him, dragging him for 20 feet.
The child's mother pulled him out from under the car and took him to Temple University Hospital where he is undergoing tests. The child is currently listed in stable condition.
