Police: One-Year-Old Child Struck By Van In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police announced a hit and run in which a 1-year-old boy was taken to Children's Hospital after being struck by a van on Friday night in South Philadelphia.

Officials say the 20-month-old child darted out into the street around 6:14 p.m. on the 1500 block of Ritner Street.

Police say the child was struck by a green work van with New Jersey tags on it.

Officials say the van was last seen traveling westbound on Ritner Street from 18th Street. Police told Eyewitness News that it is unclear whether or not the driver knew the child was struck.

Once at the hospital, the child was placed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in connection to this incident.
