Police: 2 Students Plotted To Stab Classmate

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Two students face several weapons charges after they allegedly brought an 11-inch kitchen knife and scissors to their southern New Jersey elementary school and planned to attack another student.

Ocean Township police say the 12-year-old girls also face charges of making terroristic threats stemming from Thursday's incident at the Frederic A. Priff school. They also will face punishment from school officials.

The girls told police they were mad at the other student, but further details about the dispute were not disclosed. Police say no attack occurred and no injuries were reported.

Authorities say that while the girls were riding the bus to school in Ocean County, one of them removed the knife from her backpack and stabbed the rear bus seat. The knife and scissors were seized by authorities.
