Police: 2 Men Attack Woman, Steal Purse Containing $800 In Overbrook

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—City police are searching for two men who they say violently attacked a woman during a robbery earlier this week.

It happened in the 600 block of North 68th Street around 7 p.m.

Police say a 53-year-old woman was standing on the block when two men ran up and demanded her purse.

The victim was attacked and punched several times during the struggle with the suspect, said authorities.

Both suspects then fled with the victim's purse containing $800, identification and credit cards.

The first suspect is described as a black man, late teens to early 20's, thin build, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with "VILLANOVA" on the front and an orange scarf over his face.

The second suspect is described as a black man, late teens to early 20's, thin build, wearing a black "Adidas" jacket with white stripes on the sleeves and a hooded sweatshirt underneath.
