1 Dead In Chester County Blaze

PARKESBURG, Pa. (CBS) – Authorities say one person and six animals died in a fire in Chester County early Tuesday morning.

Fire department officials say crews were dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street in Parkesburg just before 5 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions inside of the rowhome.

Officials say one victim was found inside the residence, along with six pets; five cats and one dog. All were pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was placed under control about an hour later.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.
