Police: 1 Dead, 1 Injured In Allentown Shooting

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and a woman injured in Allentown.

Authorities say around 10:09 a.m. Thursday,  a man and woman were approached by a suspect brandishing an AR-15 type of weapon.

Police say the suspect fired several shots, striking the victims numerous times before fleeing the scene in a Jeep Liberty heading north on 8th street.

Officials say the male victim was shot in the torso and succumbed to his injuries at Lehigh Hospital. The female was also shot and grazed on the head, authorities say.

Police say this does not appear to be a random shooting.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The incident is under investigation.
