Police: 1 Arrested, 1 Sought In Theft Of Propane Tanks In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man and are seeking another in the thefts of dozens of propane tanks from two industrial sites in Philadelphia earlier this month.
Police made the arrest Tuesday.
Investigators say the men were scrap metal collectors. The police department's Homeland Security division was alerted as a safety measure because of the number and size of some of the 43 tanks that were taken.
Police say some of the tanks could hold as much as 100 pounds of propane.
Authorities didn't immediately identify either suspect.
