Pleasant Mid-Week, Warm & Unsettled End

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After some morning clouds associated with a weak system that brought showers and thunderstorms to the mid-Atlantic overnight, the Delaware Valley returns to mostly sunny and pleasant conditions on Tuesday with a seasonable high of around 70 degrees.
Wednesday will be similar, just some afternoon high clouds and a degree or two cooler.
Thursday night, a warm front approaches the area. It remains over us on Thursday, ushering in clouds and showers but also the beginning of mild temperatures.
As it moves north of the area on Friday, the chance of showers diminishes and things will really start to warm up, looking like we will get to that 80 degree mark.
The weekend looks mild as well but unsettled, at least through Sunday morning.

1933 - Charleston, SC, was deluged with 10.57 inches of rain, an all-time 24 hour record for that location.
1975 - A massive tornado hit Omaha, NE, killing three people, injuring 133 others, and causing $150 million in damage. The tornado struck during the late afternoon moving northeastward through the industrial and residential areas of west central Omaha, and lifting over the northern section of the city. The twister, which cut a swath ten miles long and as much as a quarter of a mile wide, was the mostly costly in U.S. history up until that time.
