Pilots In Four Different Airliners Report Spotting Drone Near Airport In NJ

NEWARK, NJ (CBS) --  The FAA is investigating reports of a drone flying near Newark Airport on Sunday.

Air traffic controllers can be heard on tape warning pilots about the drone.

Four commercial flights reported seeing the drone at about 3,000 feet near the approach of a runway.

None of the flights had to take evasive action.

Federal officials are investigating the incident.
